Kidlington is a well-established event in the English tournament calendar with a seasoned team of experienced controllers and a friendly atmosphere. This year again we attracted a large attendance, and we reached the maximum number of entrants our venue can accommodate (192) on the Monday before the tournament.
Our 42nd annual tournament will also take place at Exeter Hall, Kidlington, on Saturday & Sunday 2 & 3 February, 2019. We shall again have four sections, Open, U180, U145 and U120. The prize fund will be over £2000.
The Open section will incorporate the second leg of the 2018-19 Oxfordshire Individual Championship. The first leg will be the Open section at the Witney Chess Congress to be held in October 2018.
Update Friday 9 February, 10.40am:
The complete crosstables of all four sections from the weekend were posted on this site on Monday. (Please note that on the UTU Swiss Results Service the crosstable for the U145 section is still incomplete, despite repeated attempts to re-submit it. I have asked to have it removed so that I can try again.) I have now also posted a list of all the prizewinners from the weekend (congratulations to them all!) and a brief report on the tournament.
Please also note, if you haven’t already, that nearly all the games from the Open section have now been posted here by Raj Panicker (see under the ‘Chess Games’ tab). The remaining games will follow.
